Paulo Branicio was an invited speaker and discussion leader at the 2022 Structural Nanomaterials Gordon Research Conference. His invited talk titled “Mechanical Behavior of Heterogeneous Metallic Glasses” discussed recent advances in metallic glass research developed in the group, in particular recent results produced by Suyue Yuan and Chang Liu. The conference focused on the design and synthesis of nanostructures while featuring a wide range of topics including nanomechanics, hierarchical materials, advanced characterization, atomistic simulations, and heretical design and properties. This edition of the conference, which brought together a diverse international collection of more than 22 leaders in the field was held at the scenic Eurotel Victoria, Les Diablerets, Switzerland, from May 8 to 13, 2022.
